Editorial: PROMOTING PRIDE OR PERVERSION?

[Editor’s Note: The following Editorial is rather longish and will most likely be controversial as well but given the importance of the subject matter covered in it I won’t apologize for taking the extra time to explain its purpose in greater detail. The subject is fraught with emotion, confusion, and the ability to create divisiveness both in families and in communities large and small. It’s both timely and tragic and discernment and compassion are recommended.]

Editorial: PROMOTING PRIDE OR PERVERSION?

By Arthur Topham

As a long time publisher/editor of alternative news and views it was quite disconcerting to read the March 7, 2023 Quesnel City Council Highlights and find that Council members, after receiving and listening to a Delegation from the Quesnel Pride Society who “provided Council an overview of their mission and an update of the Society’s many accomplishments in 2021/2022” then went on to state that “in response to recent hate speech distributed in our community” was there to ask that Council “affirm [its] commitment to ensuring Quesnel is a safe & welcoming place for members of the LGBTQ2+ community.”

Council, after hearing their concerns, passed the following resolution:

THAT Quesnel City Council affirms continued support for:

  • Ongoing maintenance of the rainbow crosswalk
  • Raising the Pride flag on the LeBourdais Park community flag pole during Pride month
  • Supporting Quesnel Pride Society’s Pride Week events, including the rolling parade and celebration in LeBourdais Park.

As reported in the Cariboo Observer it was a unanimous decision on the part of Council members to support and “affirm” its “commitment to ensuring Quesnel is a safe & welcoming place for members of the LGBTQ2+ community.”

The one thing though that immediately caught my eye was the statement concerning “recent hate speech distributed in our community.” Not being present at the meeting it’s unclear just what the delegation spokesperson was referring to but given the past 16 years of having to personally deal with similar accusations made against my own person I can testify to the fact that those two buzz words “hate speech” have been manipulated and elevated by the msm and special interest groups to a level of controversy well beyond the realm of common sense and truthfulness.

As an investigative journalist for the past 35 years I decided to look into the background of the story and in doing so the most obvious place to start was to review the controversial “Hate” flyer the two spokespeople for the Quesnel Pride Society (QPS), Julia Dillabough and Alison Prentice, had made reference to in their presentations to Council.

I first reached out to a Council member who I know inquiring as to where I might find a copy of said flyer but didn’t hear back from them as they were out of town so I contacted Mayor Ron Paull and asked him if he or the Council had been given a copy of the flyer for review prior to or even during the actual presentation on March 7th. The Mayor was kind enough to reply and stated that he had not seen the flyer and thus confirmed for me that the councillors weren’t given a copy during the presentation by the QPS.

Knowing this only whetted my curiosity as to why Council wasn’t privy to this alleged event wherein, as stated in the Observer article, “Their request to address council came shortly after Quesnel’s downtown was bestrewn with flyers denouncing the scheduled appearance this summer of a prominent drag performer. It urged the public to send emails of protest to the city’s councillors.”

Given that the flyer matter came from the spokespeople I decided to reach out to Julia Dillabough and Alison Prentice and see if I couldn’t round up the missing flyer. I checked on Facebook and located Julia’s page which contained the following appeal to members of the QPS:

“Diversity: a call out to all my friends in Quesnel, (well all other communities as well)

I hope that you are ready to stand up to those who are spreading hate in our peaceful community. Race, sexual orientation, religion, etc: no one needs to agree to everything in life, it is what makes this world unique and quite frankly interesting to me. What should be expected is to be respectful of one another’s differences. “We all have belly buttons just like opinions, and guess what often they stink”.

Recently there have been flyers handed out for “critical race theory” and “anti-LGBTQ+” in our small community, very sad to see. If you think that things like anti-bullying, orange shirt day, black lives matter, pride days, me too movements are “not needed” in our community, please think again… now more then ever it is time to not be complacent bystanders and stand up against the negative disrespectful hate! I hope my friends on Facebook are not just acquaintances and that you all will pledge to do something positive to make our society a better place. One that is inclusive of all!”

It was clear to me that Julia was aware of the flyers so I messaged her on Sunday, March 19th: “Hi Julia. It’s Arthur Topham here. You may be aware that I am now publishing news stories on my site Cariboosentinal.ca. I’m working on an article related to the recent Pride event at Quesnel City Hall. You bring up the issue in the Observer story of flyers that were distributed around town and then speak about “hate speech” a topic which you likely know I am very familiar with. I have reached out to a number of people including Mayor Ron Paull regarding said flyer/s as I want to see what they or it actually say and was rather surprised to find out that no one, including the mayor or city council, had actually been given a copy to review. I thought that you would likely have a copy or copies if there were different ones posted. I would appreciate it if you could get back to me regarding this issue at your earliest convenience. My land line # is 250-992-1027. No cell service yet here in Cottonwood. I can also be reached via my Cariboo Sentinel email which is: editorcs@nym.hush.com Thanks. Arthur.” To date I haven’t received a reply to my message.

The next day, Monday, March 20, 2023, I went on the Quesnel Pride Society’s website and located an email contact for Alison Prentice, President of QPS and wrote the following to her requesting a copy of said flyer:

“Dear Alison,

I’m contacting you regarding the recent March 7, 2023 meeting of the Quesnel Pride Society with City Hall.

My name is Arthur Topham and I’m the Publisher/Editor of the online news site CaribooSentinel.ca. If you’ve been around Quesnel for any length of time you’re likely familiar with my name. I am also the person who started up the monthly Alternative Tabloid The Radical back in June of 1998 which ran for 42 consecutive editions up to June of 2002 when I took it online and it then became know as RadicalPress.com.

Every edition of The Radical contained a column written by a local gay writer who used the pseudonym “Randy Buckerman”.

Anyhow I’m working on an article related to the above meeting and have been trying to locate a copy of the infamous flyer that you are quoted in the Observer article as stating was bestrewn around the downtown area “denouncing the scheduled appearance this summer of a prominent drag performer.” I’ve reached out to Julia Dillabough via her fb messenger inquiring about it but haven’t received a reply yet. I’ve also reached out to Mayor Ron Paull and he informed me that he hasn’t seen the flyer either which I thought was rather unusual given the prominence that it has taken. I had just assumed that your organization would have presented it to the Mayor and Council for review but that doesn’t appear to be the case.

My own history, which you may be well aware of, has involved over a decade of legal proceedings and court appearances (beginning back in 2007) all to do with having been charged under Sec. 319.2 of the Criminal Code of Canada for allegedly publishing articles about a particular ethnic group which were deemed to be “hate”. Over the past 16 years of litigation I’ve become acutely familiar with the whole “Hate Propaganda” phenomenon and consider myself to be somewhat of a specialist in the field.

As you and myself are very well aware the development of the whole Gay/Lesbian movement has been fraught with much misinformation and disinformation as well as undue influence from outsider organizations.

That said it is my intention to cover this local story as well as present both sides of the picture when it comes to the issues that QPS brought up at the city council meeting and also the issues that generally are of concern to Canadians across the country. It would be helpful and appreciated if you could let me know where I might find a copy of the flyer. It’s not my intention to republish it online but I do need to review it in light of all that’s been said in the local media and also in light of my own experiences in these matters.

Mar. 22nd Editor’s UPDATE: Having received a copy of the missing flyer from an associate and looking it over I’ve decided to post it. I’ve reached out far enough to Alison Prentice, President of QPS and have not had a response from her or Julia Dillabough regarding said flyer. Contrary to what was stated in the March 15, 2023 edition of the Quesnel-Cariboo Observer regarding said flyer it’s now my judgement that it doesn’t at all measure up to what QPS spokesperson Julia described as “Hate speech”.

Editor’s Note: The portion of the flyer at the bottom where the text is in red and difficult to read states:

“murders that include cannibalism and Satanic-like rituals.”

In conclusion I also want to extend my condolences to you regarding the loss of your son. My wife and I lost our youngest son (age 46) in January of 2022 and words cannot suffice to express how that event has affected us. I have three other children as well and am a Grandfather to 8 grandchild some of whom are dealing with gender issues at this stage in their lives.

Sincerely,

Arthur Topham

“Standing on Guard for the People and the Land.”

As of this writing, Tuesday, March 21, 2023 I haven’t had a reply back from Alison Prentice either. Both of these individuals may be busy and haven’t had the time to reply to my requests so I won’t accuse them of failing to do so.

In the meantime I continued to dig further into the issue using Twitter and also viewing videos that deal with the whole topic of the Gay/Lesbian/Transgender agenda. This morning I came across a video on Bitchute that basically covers the history of all that’s been coming down the track over the past half century and longer leading up to the present day. It’s an hour and 17 minutes long but the length is only due to the amount of critical information contained in it that helps to explain to the general public what the bottom line is when dealing with this overt effort to change the thinking patterns of men and women and humanity itself, all of whom have been following a code of conduct that’s literally thousands of years old.

It’s my intention to send the url to this provocative presentation to the Mayor and Council for the City of Quesnel and request that they all watch it. As well I’ll be sending it to my MLA, my MP, other politicians and other media outlets along with my list of recipients who regularly receive articles posted to the Cariboo Sentinel.

Redress is crucial to the survival of the human species and so I hope that after watching this enlightening video production that viewers will act upon the information and begin working together in order to put an end to the ultimate intended goals highlighted in the enclosed video.

[***As an aside I also need to state here that I believe not all of those who identify with the rainbow coloured flag are in favour of some of the more heinous objectives as stated in the enclosed video.]

Here is the url to the video for those who wish to view it on a larger screen. https://www.bitchute.com/video/A5MKkQlsi51Y/ It’s hoped that it will be viewed and shared by those concerned with their friends and family and associates.

CANADIAN POLITICAL PRISONER DR. JAMES SEARS RELEASED ON PAROLE OCTOBER 14, 2021

CANADIAN POLITICAL PRISONER

DR. JAMES SEARS RELEASED ON

PAROLE OCTOBER 14, 2021

“I have been released from one prison into a COVID prison.”

~ Comment by Dr. James Sears upon his release from

the South Toronto Detention Centre, Oct. 14, 2021

We are living in unprecedented dark times. Never in recorded history have so many evil men and women around the world conspired together in the greatest plot to wrest the power of the global community away from the people and into their own blood-stained hands. Were they to succeed in this demon-inspired deed humanity, as we’ve known it for millennia, will be on the verge of extinction. The present civilization, an accumulation of thousands of years of endless, slow progression toward a world of egalitarianism and world peace, suddenly is facing the most egregious, pre-meditated threat to its survival.

I say “pre-meditated” because, for a few stalwart seekers and revealers of truth who have been labouring for decades to inform the general public of the event currently manifesting before us in full force, most people never truly realized what was being planned for them. Now that the fecal matter has hit the proverbial fan and all hell is breaking loose the tide in the affairs of humankind has risen to its peak and God only knows what the future will bring us.

One of those prescient people who saw the writing on the wall and began in earnest alerting the Canadian public to the coming danger was Dr. James Sears. As Editor-in-Chief he, along with long time publisher Leroy St. Germaine who had been operating the newspaper titled Your Ward News since 2007 around Toronto, Ontario began to spice up the content with Sears’ satirical writings on controversial political issues.

Having been in the alt media business for a long time I learned about Dr. Sears’ publication in 2015 at a time when I was facing unprecedented challenges from the New World Order censors here in Canada and spending all my time and money in B.C. Supreme Court defending myself against the same specious charges that Sears and St. Germaine were also later to face.

The interesting parallel between James Sears and myself was that, because we used satire and parody (Sears more than I) to expose the machinations of the globalists who were bound and determined to take over the planet, we both ended up facing a similar charge; one that fell within the scope of the Canadian Criminal Code (CCC) and appeared under the heading “Hate Crime Propaganda” which, technically, is what Sec. 319 of the CCC is all about.

Returning to 2015 and my own court case, part of my legal strategy was to file a Constitutional Challenge under Sec. 2 of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms should I end up losing the court battle. As it turned out that was what I ended up doing when eventually I was found guilty in November of 2015 of one of two charges of promoting “hate” toward the particular ethnic group who had initially filed the complaint against me via the BC Hate Crime Team back in 2011.

In order for me to challenge the legislation it was necessary to purchase the full transcript of the 14 day trial in BC Supreme Court that had ran through October and November of 2015 at a cost of close to $7,500.00. At that point in the legal process, one which had commenced back in May of 2012 and ran continuously throughout the next three years, I was flat broke and dependent upon donations from supporters of free speech around the world. It was then that Dr. James Sears contacted me and offered to pay for the transcript to be produced so that the constitutional challenge could go ahead. I gratefully accepted his offer.

Following the end of the trial I received an email from Dr. Sears telling me that he had penned a satirical piece on the outcome of my court case in the December edition of Your Ward News. It should also be noted that back then the country had just gone through another federal election and James Sears, prior to the event, had formed his own federal party called the New Constitution Party of Canada. He ran as an independent during the election in his home riding and raise a lot of eye-brows with his criticism of a particular foreign nation who he felt wielded way too much influence and control over Canada’s associated infrastructure from media to government to the court system.

It wasn’t too long after my trial ended that Dr. James Sears and Leroy St. Germaine began to be attacked by the usual suspects who use Canada’s notorious “Hate Crime” laws to silence anyone who is critical of their activities. Complaints were laid followed by charges and what best might be termed a mock trial that ended in January of 2019 when Dr. James Sears and Leroy St. Germaine, Publisher of the satirical tabloid Your Ward News were convicted on two counts of “wilfully promoting hate” against privileged groups in contravention of Canada’s notorious “hate law” – Sec. 319 of the Criminal Code.

As Paul Fromm, Executive Director for the Canadian Association for Free Expression (CAFE) put it in one of his regular newsletters, “Each was sentenced to the maximum — unprecedented for a first time offender — of a year in jail. As Leroy is of Metis heritage, he was allowed to serve his sentence at home.”

In November, 2020, under protest, Dr. Sears and Leroy St. Germaine argued their appeal by Zoom thanks to the Covid-19 restriction.

On June 14, 2021 the appeal was denied and the sentences upheld. Dr. Sears was immediately ordered to prison and denied even a few hours to say goodbye to his wife and young son. Dr. Sears’ Application for Leave to Appeal his conviction and sentence was turned down by an Ontario judge on July 16, 2021 but Dr. Sears was NOT informed and had to learn of the decision from a friend on the outside on July 29, 2021.

Following Sears’ incarceration Paul Fromm and those who supported freedom of speech began holding regular protest gatherings outside the South Toronto Detention Centre demanding the release of Dr. Sears and claiming, rightfully, that as Amnesty International states, he is a “prisoner of conscience” or a political prisoner being punished solely for the non-violent expression of his political, religious or cultural views.

On Thursday, October 14, 2021 I received an email from Videotographer Leslie Bory telling me that after six successful protests that were organized by CAFE and videotaped by himself prison officials finally released Dr. James Sears from jail on early parole that morning.

Due to legal restrictions that I am still currently under I cannot post the url to video showing Dr. Sears’ release and his interview with Leslie Bory but I was able to take some screen shots of the event.

I jokingly told Leslie in my reply to his email that I thought Dr. Sears was looking a bit like the infamous Charlie Manson with his full beard and long curly hair but as James said when being interviewed he had lost a lot of weight while in prison thanks to the shitty food they served but that he was generally feeling good and his time inside wasn’t all that bad. He was greeted by his well-wishers and presented with a huge bouquet of white roses.

To quote further from Paul Fromm’s latest Newsletter:

“Dr. Sears emerged bearded and very thin, but cheerful, after serving four months of a 12 months sentence (the maximum) for writing satire of [Censored. A.T.] and radical feminists, contrary to Canada’s notorious “hate law” (Sec. 319 of the Criminal Code).

He told supporters who hugged him and gave him a bouquet of flowers that he had gotten on well with fellow prisoners and most of the guards. The prison food was, he said, “garbage better than hospital food, but not as good as army food.”

“Freedom of speech is dying in Canada and will die because too many people just don’t care. People may have to leave this country for freedom.”

A new generation of free speech activists will have to join the fight, he explained.

“People should not be afraid of prison,” he told his supporters. I’m 58 years old and survived,” he said. In prison, he wrote 300 pages of several books, including a fictitious prison romance, based on reality, he grinned, between a political prisoner and a female guard.

Several bad things happened to him in prison. “I was kept for 27 days in isolation. That was illegal. The maximum is 15.” Even worse, prison authorities never gave him the legal papers he needed to argue his appeal. They ended up in his property bag.

He said, as part of his probation, he must attend a propaganda course on anti-social behaviour. He looks forward to this as he hopes to convert the teachers.

“I was a first time offender,” he said, “but I was sentenced to a year in prison — the maximum! One of my cellmates, who wished me the best of luck as I left, had been sentenced to nine and a half weeks. He’d stabbed a man, stolen a truck and had been found with a quantity of fentanyl.” Just as in the old Soviet Union, common criminals are seen by the state as a sympathetic class. On the other hand, political dissidents receive the harshest treatment of the law. “Hate speech,” he said, “is considered the worst of the worst.”

It was a warm sunny Autumn morning: “I have been released from one prison into a COVID prison,” he said to applause from the free speech supporters.

He promised that he’d be writing about “the toxic culture” among the prison guards.”

Having summed things up Dr. Sears said he just wanted to get back home to see his family and make himself a big plate of fried eggs and bacon!
