A NEW BEGINNING FOR REAL CONSERVATIVES IN
THE RIDING OF PRINCE GEORGE – NORTH CARIBOO

Editor’s Note: It is with great pleasure and relief that last evening while scrolling down my Newsfeed on X (formerly Twitter) I came across the following Tweet by the Conservative Party of BC.

I immediately clicked on the url to their website https://www.conservativebc.ca/sheldonclare in order to find out who Sheldon Clare was and why he decided to commit to running in my riding (North Cariboo). I was most favourably impressed by reading through his bio and the diversity of his experience as a local boy who had grown up in the hub city of Prince George.
I breathed a sigh of relief knowing that when the next provincial election is called in BC that the people of North Cariboo and Prince George will finally have a viable third and Conservative choice of who they want in government to represent and speak out for the values that they believe in and wish to hang on to as the province (and the country as a whole) continues to steer the BC ship of state through the troubled waters that now plainly face not only beautiful BC but the world as a whole.
It’s also important to know that the Conservative Party of BC with its Leader John Rustad is not officially associated with any other federal, provincial or municipal conservative parties including the present Conservative Party of Canada.
To quote from the party website here are the principles of the Conservative Party of BC which Sheldon Clare and party will be striving to uphold under the slogan “Fight for BC!” when the next election rolls around:
• Good government.
A belief that good government is ethical, accountable, fiscally responsible and enforces the rule of law to provide for the peace and security of our society. A further belief in smaller, less intrusive, more efficient government to afford the greatest amount of freedom with the least amount of taxation;
• Individual liberty and freedom.
A belief that every individual has value, that life and liberty are a fundamental and inviolable right, and that everyone is born equal to enjoy life in a tolerant society that respects their individuality and freedom of speech, religion, and assembly;
• Social responsibility.
A belief in a strong social safety net that cares for the vulnerable in our society while encouraging individual self-sufficiency;
• Free-enterprise economy.
A belief that a competitive free-enterprise economy with the right to private property are essential to encourage the entrepreneurial spirit that creates prosperity; and
• To support the work of like-minded organizations, and elections of representatives at other levels of government.
As the Editor & Publisher of the Cariboo Sentinel this online news site will be promoting Sheldon Clare and the Conservative Party of BC. The other two major parties, the New Democratic Party (NDP) and the former Liberal Party of BC (now identifying as the BC UNITED party) have, over the course of the last 3 years, proven themselves to be inadequate to the task of providing the people of British Columbia with the good governance that it deserves. Space in this Intro won’t allow me to provide all the sordid details as to why it’s time for them to either be put out to pasture or be incarcerated for their actions. Now back to Sheldon Clare.
